Donald H. Flanary III

Donald H. Flanary

The best defense is a relentless offense.

Don believes that when a citizen is accused of a crime, the best defense is a relentless offense. Every criminal accusation leveled by the government against a citizen is an attempt to deny that citizen’s right to life, liberty, and happiness. Don sees our duty as more than just counselors and advocates, but as warriors. The only way to truly ensure the best results for our clients is to fight as if every case is going to trial. Don uses fearless, aggressive, and creative tactics to fight for every client with this attitude in mind.

Don has been practicing law for 17 years and has participated in a wide array of state and federal criminal trials and appeals. In addition to representing clients in many serious state criminal matters, Don represents clients in large-scale federal drug conspiracies, complex white-collar fraud cases, cases involving internet crimes, human smuggling, and many other federal crimes, including issues surrounding the First Amendment. Don has fought for clients’ rights in over 200 federal cases.

Don is on the Board of Directors for the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (TCDLA) and the San Antonio Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (SACDLA). Don is also an active member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the American Bar Association, the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the San Antonio Bar Association, and the San Antonio Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. Don lectures frequently throughout Texas and writes extensively in the areas of criminal law and is a faculty member of the Texas Criminal Trial College and the TCDLA Advanced Trial Skills Course.

Donald H. Flanary, III., or “Don,” is the owner and founder of Flanary Law Firm, PLLC, with its principal office in San Antonio, Texas. Don’s reputation as a fearless San Antonio attorney reaches beyond his representation of his clients in the courtroom. In his free time, Don is an avid skydiver and wingsuit flyer as well as mountain biker and scuba diver. Don believes the fearlessness in his personal life empowers his fearlessness in the courtroom.
