Lorena L. Garza

Lorena L. Garza is a licensed Texas attorney and received licensure in 2020. She is a graduate from St. Mary’s University School of Law. She graduated with Honors (Cum Laude) and participated in Pro Bono work through TexasLawHelp.org during her time at St. Mary’s. She currently works as a criminal defense lawyer side-by-side with the Flanary Law Firm and is passionate about the criminal defense work.

Lorena is fluent in Spanish and can read, write and translate accordingly. She believes every individual should be treated fairly and have their rights protected and preserved to the fullest extent. She is currently practicing in San Antonio, but serves not only the San Antonio community, but the Rio Grande Valley and Corpus Christi communities as well.

Lorena has experience in both immigration law and criminal defense. Prior to law school, she was a case manager for a non-profit organization for two years while working with unaccompanied minors. During her 1L Summer, she worked with the San Antonio based non-profit organization Migrant Center for Human Rights where she gained legal writing, discovery and trial experience in asylum proceedings.

During the first half of her 2L year in law school, Lorena gained Criminal Defense experience when she was an intern for the reputable San Antonio Criminal Defense firm Goldstein, Goldstein, Hilley & Orr. The second half of her 2L year she interned with the Law Offices of Shawn C. Brown where she gained jury trial experience for both. State and Federal cases.
